Marcella Marie Bunch Nortrup, 87, of Meredosia, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born April 13, 1927, the daughter of Ruby Virgil and Zella Dunmire Bunch. She married Gerald W. Nortrup on July 7, 1951, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Jean Easley (surviving husband, George of Chapin); and two brothers, Delbert and Wayne Bunch. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nortrup was a 1945 graduate of Meredosia High School and then worked 44 years for CIPS in Meredosia, retiring in July of 1992. She enjoyed racing field trial dogs and was an avid fan of harness racing and the St. Louis Cardinals.
