Marcella M. Forman, 93, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL and Ft. Myers, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born August 21, 1915 in Springfield, MO; the daughter of Glyn and Pearl Ayers Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Clark (deceased husband, Ron) of Virginia and Sandra Vernon (friend, Mike Ritter), both of Streator; a son, Calvin Forman (wife, Marcia) of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren, Mark Clark (wife, Beth) of Virginia, Mindi Armstrong (husband, Butch) of Virginia, Penny Vernon of Bloomington, Pam Vernon of Streator, Melissa Vernon of Sierra Vista, AZ, Scott Forman (wife, Amber) of Athens, Chris Forman (wife, Gretchen) of Mahomet, and Shelly Goodson (husband, Dean) of Royal Palm Beach, FL; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Paul Jones, and a sister, Carrie Brown.
Mrs. Forman was a 1933 graduate of Ashland High School. While residing in Florida, she was an active member of the Ft. Myers United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Ft. Myers Hospital. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was a past worthy matron of the Ashland Order of Eastern Star.
