SALEM – Marcella J. Gabriel, age 78, of Salem, died at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 13, 1939 in West Point, the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Leskovinski) Kemats Sr.
Marcella was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, a volunteer at the St.
Survivors include a son, Joseph E. Gabriel of Homeworth; a daughter Margaret “Margee” (Richard) Detrow of Salineville; a very special friend of the family, Gary Eckert; a sister, Barbara Fortney of Salem; a brother, Andrew Kemats Jr. of Salem; three grandchildren, Erick (Alicia) Corfee, Correy (Kayla) Anderson, and Chelsee (James) Shaw; and six great grandchildren, Sophia and Geno Corfee, Aubree and Colton Anderson, Emma Grace and Olivia Shaw.
Preceding her in death on May 28, 2000 was her husband Eugene S. Gabriel, whom she married August 27, 1960; two sisters, Pauline M. Penkava and Margaret Sanlo; and a brother, John M. Kemats, Sr.
