MaraLee Clara (Carmichael) Evans, 64, of Fortville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born March 3, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late William and Victoria (Keiffner) Carmichael. MaraLee retired from Indiana Bell after 19 years of service.
She also worked for Hook’s/Revco/CVS and owned several businesses, including Dynamite Kids and most recently Cap’N’Hook Sports in McCordsville. She was a member of Fortville Christian Church; Job’s Daughters Speedway; Fortville Order of the Eastern Star #149; Business & Professional Women; and NCHA/FCRV (“Twilighters”). She enjoyed camping, was known for sending greeting cards for all occasions, adored her family, and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband Grover “Ron” Evans of Fortville; children: Gregory Ronald (Stephanie) Evans of Westfield; Ginger (Cary) Miller of Greenfield; and Marissa (Brian) Hawkins of Fortville; grandchildren: Auston Evans, Sarah Evans, Corbin VanNorman, Cameron Miller, Aaron Evans, Joleena Votau, Jenne Votau and Brianna Hawkins; and niece Alicia Allen-Abreu. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her sister Linda and foster son David Lawson.
