Mara Emirzian of Farmington passed away on September 16, 2006 after a long illness. Mara was the daughter of Matthew D. Emirzian of Hartford and Maureen Emirzian of Farmington. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Stephen and his wife Dina, as well as two cherished nephews, Jarod and Declan all of Canton; her sister Alexis Morin of West Hartford and her daughter, Desiree; two very special friends, Isabella and Steve, who were there for her at all times, as well as a dear friend Paul. She also leaves her aunt Arpi S. Emirzian of Essex, her aunts and uncles Mr. & Mrs. Armen Jacobs of FL, and Mr. & Mrs. John Sullivan of IL.
Mara attended local Farmington schools and took drama classes at Yale University. Mara worked for many years at WFSB channel 3 in Hartford. Before her illness, she worked for WWLP in Springfield as an on-air host for the program “22 Showcase”.
Mara was also involved with local charities including the Open Hearth on Sheldon Street, Hartford, where she was also on the Board of Directors. Mara’s infectious smile and good nature will be missed.
