Manuela Bustamane, 95, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in Hobbs. She was born in Marfa, Texas, on May 22, 1913, to Angel and Eugenia Campos, the 14th of their 15 children. At the time of her death, Mrs. Bustamante had been the last survivor of all her siblings for several years.

She married Jesus Bustamante in Fort Stockton, Texas, in 1933. She came to Lovington with her husband and six children in 1948. The family lived and worked in the McDonald area until moving into Lovington. In 1970, Mr. and Mrs. Bustamante moved to Sacramento, California. Mrs. Bustamante returned to live in Hobbs in 2001 and at the time of her death resided at Good Samaritan Village.

She is survived by two daughshy;ters, Lucia Bustamante and Mary Hightower of Hobbs; two sons, Joe Bustamante of Denver, Colorado, and Eddie Bustamante and wife Gloria of El Paso, Texas. Her husband and two sons, Manny Bustamante and Richard Bustamaute, preceded her in death. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildlren, and scores of nephews and nieces and their extended families.

Well remembered for having a wonderful sense of humor, the family also is grateful for the legacy of the work ethic she left her children, and for he love she expressed to everyone in her family.
