Manuel F. Zapata, 72, longtime resident of Deming passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 4 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. The final viewing and funeral services will follow on Saturday, December 11, 2021 beginning at 10 with the funeral service to follow at 11 o’clock in the morning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dedication of the grave will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Diego Quintana officiating.
Manuel is survived by his two children, Irene Zapata and Patricia Rivera both of Deming; 5 brothers, Reynaldo, Jose, Francisco, Alvaro and Ismael Zapata; 7 sister, Maria P. Duran, Margarita Moreno, Martha, Maria C., Maria D., Isabel and Rosa Zapata; as well as 5 grandchildren and many numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Zapata; his parents, Manuel and Isabel Zapata, and a brother, Ramiro Zapata.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Gutierrez, Armando Zapata, Francisco Zapata Jr., Fernando Rodriguez, Fabian Rodriguez, Alvaro Zapata Jr., Alvaro Zapata Sr., Ronnie Milo, Roberto Duran, Francisco Duran, Ernesto Duran and Ismael Zapata.
