Mandye M. Gallegos, 98, of Ft. Lupton, passed away May 13, 2012. She was born September 9, 1913 in Trinidad, CO to Sotelo Martinez and Josephine Herrera. She graduated from high school in 1932 from Hoehne Colorado High School and continued her education in Nursing School at Trinidad State Junior College.
She worked at Trinidad State Nursing Hospital and also at Denver General Hospital. She has lived in Ft. Lupton since 2000.
Mandye loved solving cross word puzzles, music and dancing. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lillian Brezall and Jonnie Sandoval, both of Ft. Lupton; sisters, Vera Montoya and Cordy Duran, both of Trinidad, Helen Cebula of Chicago, IL and Dottie Thomas of Caddo Mills, TX; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
