Mandi Lyn Stokes, 40, of Jewett City, and formerly of New London, Groton and Norwich area, passed away at home on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Born on July 13, 1976 at the McGuire Air Force Base, NJ, she was a daughter of David Stokes of Lebanon and the late Lyn (Devau) Stokes. Most recently, Mandi worked as a Home Health Aide in the area. She loved animals, especially dogs and she enjoyed nature walks in the woods or on a beach. She will be sadly missed but always remembered by her father, David and his companion, Kim Maiorano of Lebanon; daughter, Lani Peterson of Groton; a son, Alex Peterson of Groton; grandson, Iris Prescott of Groton; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lisa Stokes of Norwich; a nephew, Reese Stokes of Norwich; grandmother, Laverne Stokes of Ledyard; grandfather, Matthew Stokes of Plant City, FL; dear friend, Susan of Groton; her beloved dog, Millie; and numerous extended family and friends.
