Malika Foland, 50, passed on January 25th 2022. She is survived by her husband Brice, son Jesse, daughter-in-law Nadia, daughter Halle, granddaughter Paxton and soon to be granddaughter Novah Louise, mother Beverali, and fathers John and Ken. Malika had many loving family members and friends and her light shall shine through them.

Malika was born in San Jose, California on April 13th 1971. She grew up in Foster City and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1989. In high school her passion continued to excel in soccer, along with her ‘64 ½ Mustang which she and her father restored from the ground up. She would take that Mustang to Graffiti Night in Modesto and then also cruise the El Camino Real with the biggest smile on her face.

She gave birth to her first born, Jesse, on December 3rd, 1994 in Littleton Colorado. She met the love of her life, Brice, on August 14th 1995 on her first day of work at The Home Depot. They then tied the knot on December 31st 1996 and recently celebrated their 25th year of marriage at their favorite restaurant, Sonoda’s, carrying on an annual tradition since their wedding night.

After a few years of marriage her daughter, Halle Taylor, was born on July 22nd 1999 in the same hospital as her brother 4 ½ years later. She raised her kids with love, compassion, hard work and determination. She instilled a strong work ethic and a deep love of family in her children. Her and her husband’s lives revolved around raising their children to be strong and independent.

She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life including hiking, cooking, playing poker and most of all her hot tub on weekend mornings. Malika was an animal lover all of her life, and rescued 2 of her favorite dogs, Aries and Koda Bear. She had a passion for her work and developed life long relationships throughout her career. Malika had the habit of making everyone feel like family.

Malika took on the role of a Navy Mom to Halle in the fall of 2017 and the role of a Grandma (Nana!) in February 2020 to Paxton Rae. She had a different love that she didn’t know she could have until her granddaughter arrived and it gave her a glow you could see to the moon and back.

Malika fought fiercely and was headstrong through her battle with Cancer, she never quit or waivered, she was determined to grow old with her family. #F**KCANCER

We would like all who attend to have a safe time doing so.
