Malik Keyon Sails of Tampa, FL passed away Monday, October 25, 2021.

Malik Keyon Sails was the only child of Myran Keyon Sails and the second son of Monique Reed. For most of his life, he resided in Tampa, FL and lived in Minot, North Dakota for five years.

Because Malik was such the intellectual, he graduated in May 2021 as an Honor Graduate with a 4.3 GPA from East Bay High School. In addition to excelling in the classroom, he also dominated on the football field as an outside linebacker. He then took his talents to Mississippi Valley State University, located in Itta Bena, MS, where he was awarded a full academic scholarship with plans to play football, the game he loved.

He traveled to various new places, rode the Maid of the Mist under Niagara Falls, fed buffaloes in Wyoming and Colorado, made jokes with everyone around him, and dove into pools fully clothed (including his hoodie), never turning down a challenge.

On Monday, October 25, 2021, he joined his grandmother, Rose Kelly Sails, to sit upon her lap like he’s done so many times before. Only this time it’s in Heaven with the Lord.

Malik Keyon Sails honors the ones who left before him: Uncle, Mr. Cedric Wilson; Grandfather, Mr. Eugene Wilson; Grandmother, Mrs. Rose Kelly Sails; Great Grandparents, Mr. Odell Sails, Sr., Mrs. Florence Juanita Sails, and Reverend Dr. Earl Kelly.
