Mahlon R. Gillard, 64, Anderson, passed away October 10, 2010 at Fayetteville Regional Health System-Connersville from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born February 2, 1946 in Ft. Wayne, and resided in Anderson. He lived in Summitville for 31 years, moving back to Anderson four years ago. Mahlon retired from Alleganey Ludlum Steel in New Castle as an electrician. He had previously worked at Les Smith Motors in Muncie and Langston Honda Sales in Anderson. He was a member of Deer Creek Gun Club, National Rifle Association and Civilian Markmanship Program. He was also a ham radio operator known as WB9WWY and an avid Harley rider.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynda S. Mills Gillard and three sons, Mahlon “Scott” Gillard of Muncie and his daughter, Maranda, Matthew Susan Gillard of Atlanta, Georgia and their sons, Mason and Colby, and Michael fiancee Lori Gillard of Summitville and his daughter, Mallory; brother, Michael D. Gillard; sisters, Marla Gillard and Morna Vance; several nieces and nephews; and life long friends, Jim Stone, Rex Slye and his motorcycle buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Scott Gillard & Gynelle Redfield Gillard.
