Magdalena Hubbard, daughter of Josef and Helene (Schubert) Nave, was born December 10, 1933, in Beuthen, Germany, and it was there she attended school. She met her husband, Loyal C. Hubbard, while he was stationed in Germany, serving with the United States Army. The couple married in 1961, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With Loyal, she lived in Colorado, Hawaii, Oklahoma, and Germany. When Loyal retired from the service moved to his home town of Augusta, living first on Lake Eau Claire, and then in the city of Augusta. During this time she was employed in the dietary department of the Augusta Area Nursing Home. The eventually moved to Winona, where the couple managed an apartment complex for several years. After her husband passed away on July 27, 1985, Magdalena moved to Alabama, to be her sister before returning to Germany. In April of 1992, she decided to return to Augusta, where she lived an additional 17 years. Magdalena enjoyed crocheting, playing yatzee, shopping trips, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara and Louis Thacker of Irondale Alabama, Elizabeth and Richard Bressler, Annamarie and Horst Wenzel, all of Germany; brothers Karl and Ami Nave, Gregor and Ellen Nave all of Germany, and their families; sister in law Jeanine and Dale Dickinsen of Augusta, and their family; and special longtime Augusta friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marianna.
