Mae Otilia Luxmore, 96, Galesburg, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Mae was born May 2, 1914, in Westfield Iowa, the daughter of Carl John Luther and Olive Mae Clark Rosene.
She married Ora Earl Luxmore on November 6, 1932, in Aledo, Illinois.
He preceded her in 2003. She is survived by three daughters, Virginia (John) Haun of Galesburg, Delores (Philip) Corbin of New Port Richey, Florida, and Betty Dowd of Aledo; son-in-law, Dr. Byron Hawbecker; two sisters, Irene Sollemburger of Kewanee and Dorothy Reed of Seattle, Washington; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, a daughter, Anita Mae Hawbecker, a son-in-law, Robert M. Dowd, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Mae was a homemaker, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
