Madelyn Rose Schedler, 77, of Stevensville, Michigan, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family.Madelyn was born January 23, 1930 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Frank and Thelma (Hosbein) Horton. She lived most of her life in the Baroda area and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic school. On June 5, 1948, she married Arthur Schedler in St. Joseph. Madelyn worked at various businesses; including being the owner/operator of Mawhinney Ice Cream Parlor, kitchen manager of Bill’s Tap in Baroda, co-owner of Pat’s Flower Basket in Stevensville, and also worked at Lakeside Manufacturing. In her spare time, Madelyn enjoyed crocheting, playing Pogo, and fishing. Her greatest joy was her family and her many grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat (Gary) Zavoral Sr. of Stevensville; son, Raymond (Laura) Schedler of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Katherine (Alan) Heritz, Gary (Cathy) Zavoral Jr., Chad (Leah) Zavoral, Joel Zavoral, Joyce (Alfred) Tio, John (Victoria) Zavoral, Michael (Sarah) Zavoral, Nichole (Todd) Tilly, Raymond Schedler Jr., Raychel Schedler, Cynthia Schedler, Ashley Schedler, Joseph Schedler, Nicole Riley, and Ryan Riley; great grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Schoonbeck, Stephanie (Adam) Robson, Allison Heritz, Lindsay Zavoral, Cassidy Zavoral, Shelbie Zavoral, Bayelie Zavoral, Marshall Zavoral, Austin Zavoral, Samantha Zavoral, Jordan Tio, Justin Tio, Kirsten Tio, Ian Tio, Trevor Zavoral, Colton Zavoral, Emily Zavoral, Avery Zavoral, Kaelen Zavoral, Addison Zavoral, T.J. Tilly, Christopher Schueneman, Andrea Schueneman, and Allison Tio, and two great-great grandchildren, McKenzie Schoonbeck and Lyssa Robson; brothers, Ronald (Delorise) Horton, Michael Horton, and Dennis (Jackie) Horton all of Benton Harbor, Leslie Horton of Buchanan, and sister, Judith (Gary) Boyle of Stevensville.
