Madelyn M. Larkin, 92, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 11:14 a.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Hamilton Communities. Madelyn was born on August 21, 1921 in South Bend to Earnest and Hazel (Higbee) Deardorff, and was a lifelong resident. She retired on September 1, 2010 as the Bar Manager at the Maennerchor Club in South Bend. On December 20, 1941 she married Samuel R. Larkin, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2010. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Carl, Lloyd and Edward Deardorff. Survivors include her daughter, Leeann (Neal Allsop) Benson of South Bend, Indiana; her son, Sam (Nancy) Larkin of Plymouth, Indiana; three grandchildren, Todd Benson, Tracie Fulmer, and Brent Larkin; eight great-grandchildren, Tara Blair, Derek Fulmer, Brittany Benson, Pachia Benson, Dallas Benson, Luke Larkin, Lily Larkin, and Lyssa Larkin; one great-great-grandson, Blake Blair; two sisters, Dorothy VanDusen of South Bend, Indiana and Geraldine Toner of Niles, Michigan; and one sister-in-law, Norma Deardorff of Mishawaka, Indiana.
