Madelina Irene Medina entered into the Golden Gates of the Kingdom of Heaven on May 10th, 2021. She lead a beautiful life here on earth and was an inspiration to more than we can count. She was born on September 13th, 1933 in Chama, Colorado to Avrianno & Cecilia DeHerrera. Madelina was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, CO, She retired from Penrose Hospital after working there as a housekeeper for 22 years. She was beautiful inside & out. One of a kind, she was a hero to many, and a Grandmother to all! The love for her family was beyond this world, there was nothing more important to her than her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren. She had one of those hearts that could never reject or judge. She loved us all beyond our faults, and poured her everlasting love into us all. Mrs. Medina was a very respected & well known lady by her community and famous for feeding anyone who was in need of a hot meal. She is survived by her Sons Patrick Medina, Jimmy & Roberta Medina, Jerry Medina, Clarence Medina, Ricky & Carol Medina, her Daughter Debra & Dennis Moreno, 26 Grandchildren, 44 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren, Sisters Terry Reynolds, Mable Riley, Rose Maestas & Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, & Friends. She was a very strong independent lady who took on the world on her own, she not only raised her children, but also raised 2 of her Grandchildren Mitchell & Cherry Medina as her own, along with helping raise her Great Grandson Anthony Medina whom we are sure met her at the Golden Gates of Heaven. Madelina was a very religious woman, and spent hours praying her rosary for each & everyone of us, most of us are still here today because of her prayers! She completed her destiny here on earth and is now in the arms of Jesus! Madelina is proceeded in death by her Parents Avrianno & Cecilia DeHerrera, Brother Evan DeHerrera, Daughter Joyce Medina, Son Michael Medina, Husband Patrick Medina, Son Evan Medina, Nephew Leroy Chavez who she also considered as one of her sons, Sisters Lorraine DeHerrera, & Percy Cisneros, Great Grandson Anthony Medina, along with many other angels who passed through her life!
Little we knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved your dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.
Mom / Grandma, we are so very thankful to the Lord for showing you how to age so gracefully, for being our strength and our encouragement. We will forever treasure your humble heart. May God Bless your Beautiful Soul. We know that you are being rewarded in heaven for all that you have done for our family!
We Love You More!!!
