Mack B. Kaminski, 84, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the home he has lived in his entire life, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mack was born February 12, 1923 to Walter and Michalina (Nowik) Kaminski. He was the beloved husband of Rose (Knytych) Kaminski, who he married October 12, 1946, in New Buffalo. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.
He was the giving father of Allen (Joanne) Kaminski of New Buffalo; Kevin (Maureen Clarke) Kaminski of Jersey City, New Jersey; Kathryn (Dan) Vaderplough of Laporte, Indiana and Susan Mroz of New Buffalo. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Lacey Kaminski, Benjamin Kaminski, Brian Sims, Alexandria Vanderplough, Holly Vanderplough, Jeff Vanderplough and Leanne Arthur. Mack was a kind and caring brother for his older siblings, Edward and Walter, who preceded him in death.
His brother-in-law, Harry Sarabyn of Dowagiac, Michigan survives as well as numerous friends he has made through his long and rich life. Mack was a WWII veteran who served in the canine and artillery divisions of the U.S. Army. He was also owner and operator of Mack’s Well Drilling, a constable of New Buffalo Township, and a trade electrician member of IBEW Local 531, 1032, 1393, and 1392. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, telling stories and spending time with family and friends.
