Macel Elizabeth Myers Lucas, age 90, went home to be with the Lord at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Macel was born July, 24, 1924 at Monticello, Arkansas to the late Walter Lee and Mimi Myers. Her step-mother, Carrie Spiller Myers and Walter Lee Myers raised her and her two brothers Nelson and Jimmy Myers in Dermott, AR.
Macel was one of the many Rosie the Riveters for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas during World War II and retired from Colonial Bakery. Macel was a resident of Tumbling Shoals, AR where she served the Lord at Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church for over 30 years.
Macel was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence N. Lucas, one son Walter Lee Lucas, two brothers Nelson and his wife Bertha, and Jimmy Myers. She leaves behind a son Michael L. Lucas and his wife Danice of Austin, AR, two granddaughters Lucinda Munnerlyn of Hazen, AR and Jessica and husband Jay Chipman of Hot Springs, AR. Her five great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Rebecca Munnerlyn, and Haden, Gracie and Ava Chipman will remember her with love and sweetness. Macel’s sister-in-law, Frances Myers, Little Rock is among the few remaining family members of her long illustrious life. Macel’s nieces, nephews and friends living across the nation will continue to remember her with a smile and sweet memories.
