Mable M. Chenoweth, 90, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2007, in Millers Merry Manor, New Carlisle.

Mable was born on February 12, 1916, in Cheneyville, IL to the late Albert and Mary (Milady) Conner. On February 15, 1936, as Mable M. Conner, she married Elmo Charles Chenoweth, who preceded her in death on October 27, 1976.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph; three sisters, Loretta Mann, Genevieve Wiker and Lucille Fowler and by two brothers, Phil Bargaree and Lawrence Conner.

She is survived by her two daughters, Martha Dobrzykowski of Columbus, IN and Elizabeth (Larry) Colt of South Bend, IN; her son, Pat (Linda) Chenoweth of South Bend; 14 grandchildren, Diana (Ashley) Schrader of Florida, Debbie Whitmer of Plymouth, IN, Terry (Sue) Whitmer of Florida, Denise (Alfonso) Ortiz of Plymouth, Jeff Whitmer of Tyner, IN, Tony (Donna) Whitmer of Florida, Michelle (Bob) Miller of North Carolina, David (Amber) Colt of Indianapolis, Todd (Amie) Colt of South Bend, Lori (John) Putch of Texas, Tanya (Jim) Mead of South Bend, Adam Chenoweth of South Bend, Heather Chenoweth of South Bend and Tina (Jim) Peinkofer; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great granchildren; a sister, Mildred Neuman of Rankin, IL; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Williamson of Florida.

Mable worked as a cook for the Northern Indiana Children’s Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of the Twin City Baptist Church and attended the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church.

The family would like to thank Millers Merry Manor for their love and care of our mother. She was treated with love and respect as if it was their own mother. They would also like to thank Harbour Light Hospice and Rev. Jerry Bell and Rev. Don Bayne for their support.
