Mable L. Bedwell, 100, of Edwardsport, IN, passed away Thursday evening November 19, 2020 at the Freelandville Community Home. Mable was born October 1, 1920 in Sandborn, IN the daughter of Frances and May Elkins Newkirk. She married Doyle Bedwell on August 17, 1937 and they made their life together for over 58 years until his death in December 1995. Mable was a homemaker and a member of the Edwardsport First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family at any event they gathered.
Mable is survived by her children, Claude F. Bedwell, and his wife Dorothy of Newburgh, IN, Gary Bedwell of Edwardsport, IN and Karen Goodwin of , Elizabethton, TN. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Bedwell, a son, Jack Bedwell, a daughter in infancy, Margaret Ellen Bedwell, her brother, Ray Newkirk and 4 sisters, Goldie Rose, Evelyn Arney, Nellie Jerrell and Bessie Newkirk.
