Mabel L. “Judy” Peterson 72 of Fitchburg died Sunday December 6, 2009 in Leominster Hospital. She was born on March 25, 1937 in Fitchburg, MA was the daughter of George E. and Ellen C. (Crowell) Bowen. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1954 and a Gold F Student graduating top of her class. She was also a Fitchburg State College Graduate Class of 1958 where she graduated top her of class also. She worked as a teacher for over 22 years in the Gardner Public School System teaching Grades 4-5. She was a member of the Lighthouse church of God, a true Christian, former member of the Winchendon Church of God. She taught religious education in her younger years, was a member of Massachusetts Teacher’s Association and N.E.A., Gardner Teacher’s Association, Retired Educated Association, Judy was an avid sports fan especially football and baseball games. She enjoyed ceramics and loved attending her church. She is survived by a sister Gail (Bowen) LeBlanc and her husband Ronald of Leominster, two step-sons Kenneth Peterson of Brookfield, and Frank Peterson of Westminster, a nephew Bryan R. LeBlanc Esq. of Leominster, a dear friend Annette Kirby of Leominster, several step grandchildren.
