Lynore Diane White-Parker was born June 16, 1943 in New Jersey, and died May 13, 2021 in Ocala, Florida.
Lynore, who went by the name Diane, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on May 13th, 2021. She is survived by her husband Roger Parker of Ocala, Florida, and his daughter Ann Melinda Craggs (Larry), Diane’s daughters Martha Hutcheson of Everglades City, Florida, and Sarah Hutcheson-Bate of Leesburg, Florida, grandchildren Diane, Jonathan, Steven (Trelyn), Laurence, Michael, and Christian as well as 4 great-grandchildren, her sister, brother, and many family and friends around the world.
Diane lived her life to the fullest. She loved to teach and she loved to share her love of life with everyone she met. She had the spirit of an adventurer! She was raised in Florida and the Dominican Republic where she learned to speak Spanish and began her love of languages. She learned seven languages in all and used them throughout her careers in real estate sales and teaching.
She graduated from Mary Immaculate High School in Key West and then from Florida International University in Miami. She taught at Dearborne School in Miami, FL and at Westport Middle/High School and Liberty Middle School in Ocala, FL where she made a difference in the lives of so many ESL students.
Her other long term career was selling real estate. She sold real estate on Key Biscayne and Miami in the 1970s and 1980’s which enabled her to travel quite a bit to Central and South America and again in Citrus and Marion County in the 1990s. Her strong work ethic, passion for languages, and connections with her clients helped to develop friendships that endured throughout her life.
After moving to Dunnellon, Fl in 1986, she and her then husband, the late Dr. Jesse R White, worked at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park to rehabilitate the Florida Manatee. They worked tirelessly to ensure the survival of the manatee throughout the state of Florida. The legacy of this work can be seen through our states conservation laws. You can still
Always moving forward and striving to be at her best, Diane started selling real estate in Citrus and Marion County in the late 1990s. She sold properties at Citrus Springs and Marion Oaks as well as some of the local horse farms in Ocala. This is where she met and married Roger Parker.
Diane and Roger were great adventure partners. They enjoyed traveling together on cruises and touring through the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. The also enjoyed a love of seafood and good wines and friends.
There are so many great stories that can be told of Diane’s life! She did write a book, “Dancing with a Dictator”, which is the story of her life growing up in the Dominican Republic during the time of President Rafael Trujillo. Her daughters hope to get this edited and published in the future.
