Lynnette Peterson Barnhill, 74, passed away on Saturday October 17, 2020.
Lynnette was born to Vernon Hyrum Peterson and Edna Alvey on January 16, 1946 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She grew up in Nampa, Idaho and Hyrum, Utah. She graduated from South Cache High in 1964. She attended Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business Management in 1969. She returned to college at Idaho State University and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics Education in 1971.
She began her teaching career in Guernsey, Wyoming teaching Home Economics where she taught for two years. Lynnette moved to Nampa, Idaho to continue her career at South Junior High for two years, then another thirty years at Nampa High School. She retired in 2006 after thirty-four years and teaching over 6,500 students which she dearly loved. She loved her students and became a friend and confidant to many.
She married Robert Vernum Barnhill on April 12, 1979. This union was blessed with two children, Lyshell Annette and Robert Loren. They later divorced in 1989.
Lynnette is survived by her daughter Lyshell (Clay) Grigg of Boise, a sister Thelma Ann (Ron) Dent of Boise, and a brother in-law David (Cherie) Rapier of Mesa, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert, her parents Vernon and Edna Peterson and a sister Elaine Rapier.
