Lynnette Bell Long, 71, of Elkhart, passed away at Riverside Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart following an extended illness at midnight Thursday, April 2.

She was born in Linaway County, Mich., on July 25, 1943, to the late Hubert and Evelyn (Sayers) Long.

Surviving is her sister, Shirree R. Rittenhouse of Mishawaka; her nephews, Mark (Teresa) Rittenhouse of Passport, Australia, and Greg (Heather) Rittenhouse of South Bend; and two great-nieces.

Lynnette worked for CTS and Whitehall Laboratories of Elkhart for many years until her health required her early retirement. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, played piano and organ by heart for various churches, and completed dental school when she was young. She loved to knit, sew and spend time with her cats, which she loved dearly.
