Lynn E. Banahan, 87 years of age, of Steele City, passed away at home Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born on July 16, 1930 in Steele City to Joseph and Eva (Thrapp) Banahan. Lynn graduated from Steele High School in 1948. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from September 21, 1951 to September 10, 1953. Lynn married Elaine Graff on March 30, 1957. He was a lifelong farmer in the Steele City area and was a member of the Klein-Campbell American Legion in Steele City and the Elks Club in Fairbury.

Lynn is survived by 3 sons, Dave (Mary) Banahan, Dan Banahan, Daryl (Vickie) Banahan, all of Steele City; daughters, Jo (Randy) Nease of Dallas, Texas, Nyla (Charles Jr.) Ring of Oketo, Kansas; his dog, Pup; 7 grandchildren, Heather Nease, James (Deidre) Banahan, Ryan (Kristin) Banahan, Scott Banahan, Andy (Jenna) Banahan, Travis Banahan, Samantha Banahan and fiancé Tyler Ottensmeier; 5 great-grandchildren, MeKenzie and Kamden Banahan, Logan Banahan, Brayden and Emersyn Banahan; brother, Larry (Karen) Banahan of Steele City; niece, Julie (Jeff) Ondrak; great-nephew, Patrick Ondrak; great-niece, Joy Ondrak, all of Fairbury; cousins, Eldean (Norma) Banahan of Steele City, Carman (Phil) Guires of Salina, Kansas, Burdie Thrapp of Lincoln, Armella Thrapp of Boulder, Montana; brothers-in-law, Lyle (Sharlene) Graff of Steele City, Larry (Kathy) Graff of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Betty Munsterman of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine on July 4, 2017; and grandson, Stuart Banahan.
