Lynette “Lynn” Elbert, age 81, of Algona passed away on November 2, 2019 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Lynette Karen Elbert, the daughter of Orlan and Myrtle (Johnson) Rutledge, was born on January 31, 1938 in Algona. She attended Algona Community Schools and graduated in 1955. On August 31, 1958, Lynn was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Elbert at St. Cecelia Catholic Church. She worked for Bishop Garrigan High School as their book keeper and office manager. Lynn retired on January 31, 2002. Lynn enjoyed playing cards with her Crazy 8 Card Club that was started in 1960, camping, traveling, reading and most of all she loved to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Left to cherish Lynn’s memory are her sons, Jim (Angie) Elbert of Algona and Roger Elbert of Algona; grandchildren, Amanda Elbert of Algona, Adam (Samantha) Elbert of Algona, Emily (Chris) Porter of Chandler, AZ, Josh (Andrea) Elbert of Algona, Jared Elbert of Algona and Matt (Ashley) Elbert of Greenfield; and nine great grandchildren. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Orlan and Myrtle Rutledge; brother, Durwood Rutledge; sister, Leila Ingebritson; husband, Henry Elbert and great granddaughter, Lynn Elbert.
