 Lyman Burton Fluckiger, was born May 27, 1930 in Afton Wyoming to Lyman Wilford Fluckiger and Calpurna Burton Fluckiger. He was the youngest of four children. He was named Lyman after his father. He was known as L. Burton by his family and friends while in his youth. He was nicknamed Burt for short by his wife during his married life.

 He finished Jr. College before serving a mission. He served an LDS Mission to Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1950-1952.

 He met Valene Bradshaw while living in Emmett, Idaho after his mission. His family had recently moved to Emmett.

 He was a kind, gentle, and forgiving man. He was strong and industrious even until the end. He was a devoted father and husband.  He loved and served his family, friends, and God. School came easy for his children as he could personally tutor them in math, science, and many other subjects. He loved adventure and he loved the outdoors. He spent many summers on the 50-mile hike with the scouts. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very creative and a crisis was never a crisis for him as he could always figure out a solution.

 He passed away unexpectedly while in good health.  He died at home peacefully on June 21, 2016 of natural causes. 

 He leaves behind his wife Valene Bradshaw Fluckiger , seven children: Ilene Fluckiger Kuhns, Debra Fluckiger Matheson (Kirk), Cris Bradshaw Fluckiger (Micki Ashdown), Michelle Fluckiger, Dirk Bradshaw Fluckiger (Sherene Jensen), Tracy Fluckiger Rummler (Russell), Jared Bradshaw Fluckiger (Kendra Hogg), 21 grand-children, and 2 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents Lyman Wilford and Calpurna Burton Fluckiger and his three siblings:  Hubert Burton Fluckiger, Don Burton Fluckiger, and Louise Fluckiger Stirling.
