PERRY -Edward Lyle Bowler, 80, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his home.
He was born on August 19, 1933 in Clay Springs, AZ. He was a son of Harry M. and Hortense Brewer Bowler. Lyle graduated from Winslow High School, Winslow, AZ.
He married Bessie Irene Davis on November 5, 1953. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on June 1, 1954.
Lyle grew up in Woodruff, AZ. He then moved to California where he worked almost 40 years for the Sanda Fe Railroad as a conductor. After retirement he moved to Perry, UT.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a High Priest. While serving in the Air Force, Lyle played football in Japan during the Korean War and served as a Military Police Officer. He also was a police officer in Winslow, AZ. Lyle was a proud Veteran.
He loved his family, trains, traveling, and the Perry “Picnics in the Park”. Lyle won awards at the Chili Cook-offs. He was a golfer and an avid visitor to the Hot Springs.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Bessie, Perry; children: Tanya Cortner, CA; Kris Bowler, UT; Tony Bowler, AZ; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also siblings: Del J. Bowler, UT; LeMoyne Bowler; Ruby Rathbone, Co; and Ernest Bowler, CA.
Lyle is preceded in death by his sons: Gary Lyle, Edward Dean and Kim Gentry, his parents, sisters, brother, as well as other beloved family members, including his dog Scooter.
