Lydia Denise Wiggins (Smith) was born on January 13, 1960, in Chicago Illinois to Rev. Ras Smith and Leontyne Williams (Jeffries). Lydia was one of seven children. She received her education in the Chicago Public School system and graduated from Corliss High School.

Lydia accepted Christ at a very early age at Christ Everlasting Church in Chicago, Illinois under the leadership of her father, Rev. Ras Smith. In 1982, Lydia moved to Columbus, Ohio to be with her mother and stepfather. There she attended Westside Temple Church of God in Christ with her mother where she delivered dinners to the church family and seniors. They both later transferred and became members of lmani Christian Church.

Lydia loved being a mother to her two sons. She loved cooking, listening and dancing to music. She did all the cooking for her family on holidays and special events. Her smile and laughter were bright and contagious. She loved to spend time with her family and friends for good times and fun. She spent most weekends with her grandchildren loving and showing them what family is all about. She enjoyed cruises and had a blast on both family cruises that she attended. Lydia was always the life of the party and was guaranteed to make you laugh.
