Lydia Ruth Davis, 81 of Good Hope, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at United Hospital Center. She was born August 5, 1929 in Junction City, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Freebert Steinhauer and Viola Cox Steinhauer. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Davis; four brothers, Ben Steinhauer, Forest Steinhauer, Freebert Steinhauer and Fritz Steinhauer; two sisters, Clara Bodner and Annie Burton. She is survived by three sons, Lewis Wayne Davis and wife Debbie, Buckhannon,WV, William Michael Davis and wife Sherry of Wirtz, VA, Robert Dean Davis, Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Ann Denise Wright and husband David, Charleston, WV; five grandchildren, Christie Davis, Joshua Davis, Jeremy Davis, Ryan Wright, and Andrew Wright; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Simmons; one brother, Earl Steinhauer and wife Jean, Danville, KY; several nieces and nephews. Ruth was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Good Hope Extension Homemakers and always enjoyed helping with church social events. She was also a member of the Good Hope Chapter #109 Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her many thoughtful endeavors within community, she was an incredible loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
