Lula Maye Land Hodges, 72, of 671 Jackson Heights, Danville, VA, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at her residence. Born July 7, 1937 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Lona Everhart and the late William Franklin Land. She was a member of Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church, and was formerly employed as a weaver for Dan River, Inc. She was married to her life-long partner, Robert P. Hodges, Jr. for 56 wonderful years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen H. Adams and husband, Wayne and Kimberly H. Jacks and husband, Brian all of Danville; one son, Cory Alan Hodges and wife, Lori of Danville; two sisters, Lucille Jackson of Eden, NC and Rosemary Lewis of Danville; three brothers, Cecil Land and wife, Lois, of FL; Danny Land and wife Brenda of Danville and Michael Land and wife, Tonya of Roanoke and her brother-in-law, William Hyman. Mrs. Hodges is also survived by seven grandchildren, Stacey A. Keatts and husband, Ray, Ian Adams, Amber H. Davila and husband, William, Robert Neal “Bobby†Hodges, Elayna Jacks, Aaron Jacks, and Jayme Jacks and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Keatts, Leila Keatts and Brianna Davila. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was also predeceased by one son, Robert Wade “Bobby†Hodges, a sister, Jeannette Hyman, and four brothers, Bill Land, Nathan Land, Lloyd Land and Henry Land.
