Luella Mae Beyer, the daughter of Edward and Josie (DeZwarte) Beyer, was born November 9, 1917 in Sully, Iowa. She attended country school in rural southeast Newton, Iowa. Luella started her career at the Vernon Company in Newton in 1947 where she worked in the sample room. Luella retired from the Vernon Company in 1979. Luella had several interests, including collecting salt and pepper-shakers, dolls, and keeping her lawn ornaments in mint condition, but her true loves were her roses.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Harold in childhood, Lester and Harris Beyer. Those left to honor her memory are her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie E. and Marjorie Beyer of Newton; Harold and Grace Beyer of Sully, Iowa and her many nieces and nephews.
