Obituary of Luella Jean Awad
Passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2019 with her family by her side. Luella was born August 29, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Owen and Christina (Melzo) Griffith. She was united in marriage to Abraham Awad on December 28, 1957. One of Luella’s biggest accomplishments was after her children were grown, she went back to night school and completed her high school diploma and was her class valedictorian. Luella loved to play bingo, going to Las Vegas to see the lights and her weekly family poker games. But most of all Luella loved and cherished the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Luella is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Abe; her children and their families, Abe (Rhonda) Awad Jr. their children, Austin and Amy and their grandchildren, Rylynn, Whitt, Tiffany and Kiana; Greg (Bonnie) Awad, their children, Kristen, Lyndsay and Brandon and their grandchildren, Joslyn and Mila; Shelly (Carter Clapp) Awad, her child, Katie, her grandchild, Brody, a sister, Linda Drake, two brother in-laws, Joe (Sheila) Awad and Jerry Zedaker and two sister in-laws, Bev Novak and Pat Griffith.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings, JoAnne Foley, Richard Griffith, Donald Griffith, Lois Wick and Bruce Griffith.
