Ludell Sutton Underwood was born on December 17, 1947 in Sampson County, North Carolina to the late Elijah and Daisy Sutton. Ludell grew up in Wade, NC and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1966. Ludell married Alvin “Scott” Underwood in 1971. They were married for 36 years.
Ludell continued her education later in life and completed her training to become a Certified Nurses Assistant. She was also a dedicated employee of Dunbar Foods in Dunn, NC for 15 years. She worked as a supervisor for numerous years.
Ludell departed this life on November 28, 2007 and was preceded in death by her parents Elijah and Daisy Sutton and four siblings: EJ Sutton, James “Bud” Sutton, Pearl Draughorn and Evelyn McDougald. Ludell leaves many loving family members to cherish her fond and everlasting memories: husband Alvin of the home; two daughters Sonia Sutton Ward of North Port, FL; LaShaunda Underwood of Sampson County; one son Aldrick Underwood of the home; seven sisters Roberta Whitehead of Godwin, Cleo McKoy of Dunn, Daisy Williams of Fayetteville, Lureatha Vann (Lonnie) of Fayetteville, Rosetta Green of Erwin; one brother Willie Sutton (Mary) of Godwin, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
