Lucille S. “Sue” Goodman, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Moravian Village of Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Gordon B. Goodman, who died in January. Born in Bethlehem on April 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert T. and Mildred (Romig) Schaffer. She was a Liberty High School graduate, class of 1940 and worked at the former Hess Brothers Department Store. Sue was a member of Christ Church UCC, Bethlehem, where she served as past president of the Mother’s Club. She enjoyed singing with the St. Luke’s Singers. Survivors: surviving are her sons, Douglas S. Goodman and his wife Katharine of Fairfield, CT, Ross H. Goodman and his wife Vicki of Malvern, PA and a daughter, Sue Ellen Hengstenberger and her husband John of Bethlehem, sisters, Lillian King of Bethlehem, Cynthia Eaton and Sandra Eichenberg, both of Florida, brother, Richard Schaffer of Bethlehem, and 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey G. Goodman and a brothers, Gilbert and Henry Schaffer and a sister, Betty Zellner.
