Matthews: Lucille M. (Burke) Biggs Walters, 92, died Saturday afternoon, March 1, 2014, in IU Health Blackford Community Hospital, Hartford City. She was born in Logansport, the daughter of the late Otha and Olive (Ford) Burke. She married Harvey Biggs on November 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1979.
She married Robert Walters on August 24, 1987, in Matthews. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2012. Mrs. Walters had resided in Matthews since 1980, where she attended Epworth United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #486, Matthews, where she served as the Past Matron.
Survivors include her children Harold (Shirley) Biggs, Matthews, Hildred Biggs, Indianapolis; step-children, Richard (Jane) Walters, Muncie, Mark (Vickie) Walters, Upland, David (Kelly) Walters, Hartford City, and Catherine Walters, Matthews; two brothers George (Vivian) Burke, Marion, and Lowell Burke, Covington; a sister, Gladys Cunningham, Marion; daughter-in-law, Rene Biggs, California; one granddaughter; two great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Harvey and Robert, sons, James Bowyer and David Biggs, a brother, William, and four sisters, Agnes, Billie, Lula and Bessie.
