Lucille Helen Thielbert, 97, of Galesburg, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at home.
Lucille was born June 17, 1918 in Galesburg, the daughter of Serafin J. and Mildred Filich. Lucille met Ralph C. Thielbert, the love of her life, and they were married on May 8, 1935 in Davenport, IA. Their 77 year marriage brought 6 loving children, Donald, Ralph David (and Terri), Daniel Dean (deceased), Daniel Lee (deceased), Rebecca Ann Crumm and Diana Kaye (Paul W.) Long, all of Galesburg. Ralph and Lucille were blessed with 8 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren with another due soon, 13 step great grandchildren, one great great grandson and11 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Daniel Dean and Daniel Lee; one sister, Pauline Reeves; 2 brothers, Daniel and Joseph Filich; and one step granddaughter, Teresa Scott.
Lucille worked at OMC Gale Products for many years. Lucille was an active member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Women’s Auxiliary. She was an active and devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the altar and rosary society, and was a member of the 3rd Order of the Lay Carmelites. A talented artist, Lucille had crafts in many different craft shows. She was in a sewing club for many years, the last meeting was held two weeks ago at her home. Lucille was devoted to her family and loved having everyone over to visit. Lucille loved to swim and enjoyed teaching all her children to swim.
