Lucille “Girlie†Barker Roach, 91, of Axton, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Stanleytown Health Care. Born May 19, 1919 in Axton, VA, Mrs. Roach was a daughter of the late Reese Webster Barker and Alfra Barker Barker and was the wife of the late Posie L. Roach, Sr. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Barker Wilson and by two brothers, Floyd Barker and Fred Barker. Mrs. Roach was a member of Axton United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Eloise Roach Mason and husband Mike Mason of Martinsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Posie L. “Skeezer†Roach, Jr. and wife Nancy A. Roach of Martinsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Violet Barker Newcomb and husband George Newcomb of Martinsville and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray W. Barker and wife Nancy Carol Barker of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Michelle M. Estes, Paige R. Cox, Thomas M. Mason and Darrin R. Roach and by six great-grandchildren, Rachel Estes, Sarah Estes, Tanner Roach, Tucker Roach, Logan Mason and Miranda Mason.
