CHATHAM-Loyd Giles Merricks age 93 of Chatham, VA died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 4, 1918, in Pittsylvania County, the son of the late Willie Giles Merricks and the late Mary Gray Giles Merricks. He was predeceased by his wife Agnes Dodson Merricks. Mr. Merricks is survived by one son, Steve P. Merricks of Chatham.\r\r In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by one daughter, LeeAnn Merricks; and two brothers, Stover E. Merricks and Clyde S. Merricks.
