Lowell Murray, 77, passed away Thursday May 7, 2015 in New Whiteland. He was a resident of New Whiteland. Lowell was born May 24, 1937 in Clay County, Kentucky to Jack and Leah (Nicholson) Murray.

Lowell lived a very simple life. He worked hard on the farm, growing up he never let the grass grow under his feet. If he had a job to do, he got it done. He retired from his own cleaning business after more than 35 years.

The things Lowell cherished are simple, he called them the ABC’s of life, A is for Ann, his wife of 56 years, who have stuck together through good and bad times, B is for the Bible, Banjo, Blue grass and Basketball and C is for his children.

Lowell was a musician, not trained, but self-taught and a true blue grass banjo pickin guy. He should have played in Nashville and he loved playing with his brother, Billy.

His family will miss him and his wonderful laugh.

He is  survived by his wife, Ann Gilbert Murray of New Whiteland, two children, Kimberly (Gary) Persinger of New Whiteland and Rocky (Larry) Ratliff of Fairland, sister, Irene Robinson of Kentucky, brother, Billy Murray of Kentucky, three grandchildren, Megan Persinger, Isabella Ratliff and Silas Ratliff and one great-grandchild, Jack Bruce. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Shawn Murray,  sister, Maxi Hamilton and  brother, Cecil Murray.
