Mrs. Lourdes P. James, 74, of Mulberry passed away Sunday, January 13. Born December 19, 1938 in Dolores Eastern Samar, Philippines. She was the daughter of Avedalio and Cesaria Pomida. She married her husband, a US Navy corpsman, in the Philippines in 1966 and moved to the United States in 1967. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. James and her grandson Sgt. William C. James (KIA in Iraq), sisters Delapaz P. Robin, Magdelena P. Ty and Elsa P. Roncal and brother Norberto Pomida. She is survived by her son William P. James and his wife Catherine of Oceanside, CA and daughter Jeannie S. Williams and her husband Dwayne of Mulberry, sisters Patrocenia P. Travis of Missouri , Enriquita P. Guarino and Norma T. Corado of the Philippines. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and was proud of her Filipino American family and took pride in passing on her heritage to us.
