Loula R. Turk was born into eternal life on February 28, 2013. The daughter of Dusty Rhodes and Isabella Cochran Rhodes, she was born on February 15th, 1945, in Austin, Texas. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1962. She attended Texas Tech University and the University of Texas. She worked as a homemaker when her children were young and later she worked outside the home as a paralegal. She and her husband relocated several times during his Air Force career, spending time in Texas, Virginia, Illinois, and Goose Bay, Canada. First and foremost Loula enjoyed and was proud of her family. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family members. Loula had an artistic flair which shined through in her home decorating, interior design, and cookingthroughout her 46-year marriage. She was a gifted listener, and many friends and acquaintances benefited from being taken under her wing and cared for as only Loula always enjoyed traveling and her favorite destinations were Santa Fe, New Mexico ” “the City Different” “and wherever her grandchildren were. She will be sorely missed by her husband, Herbert A. (Tony) Turk Jr., of Boerne; son Herbert A. (Tony) Turk III, grandson Jack, and granddaughter Anna of Edmond, OK; her daughter Susan Turk Howell, son-in-law Craig Howell,and grandsons Cooper and Parker of Des Peres, MO; mother-in-law, Frances Turk; brothers-in-law Chris and Peyton Turk and sister-in-law Barbara Turk of Boerne.
