Louise Merricks Arnold, 79, of 58 Valencia Drive, Collinsville, VA died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Blue Ridge Rehab. Center, Martinsville, VA. She was born on May 22, 1931 in Callands, VA to the late Luther Thomas Merricks and Madie Love Wright. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Elwood Arnold; sisters, Mary Merricks and Virginia Merricks and brothers, James Merricks and Freddie Merricks. Mrs. Arnold worked as a machine operator for E. I. DuPont and retired after 30 years service. She was a member of Hill Memorial Church and Temple Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Darlene Martin of Collinsville, VA and Kathy Arnold of Martinsville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Teresa Arnold of Fieldale, VA; sisters, Ann Tolley of Monrovia, MD and Ruby Altice of Martinsville, VA; brother, Harry Merricks of Callands, VA; grandchildren, Kelly Whitlow, Lora Coleman and Jessica Martin and great-grandchildren, Camile Meadows, Colby Meadows, Clay Coleman, James Whitlow and Gavin Whitlow.
