It is with great and profound sadness that we announce the passing of “Grandmom” Louise Martin (Moody). After a courageous battle with a long illness, Grandmom, age 84, passed on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital in Orlando, FL.
Grandmom was born in 1937 in Middletown, Delaware. She loved her family dearly and loved being surrounded by people. As a former geriatric nurse, her big heart and determination to care for others was evident throughout the years when she opened her home to those in need. Grandmom loved spaghetti night, gambling, and cherished her family deeply. Her favorite shows were Cops, Jerry Springer, and any number of court tv shows.
Grandmom is survived by many family members who loved her dearly. In 2014, her grandson Ti, who she raised as a son, moved her from Delaware to Florida to care for her. Before moving to Ti’s house in 2015, Grandmom lived in his condo with her adopted daughter Joyce. She was later moved into assisted living / rehabilitation housing.
Grandmom remained devoted to the love of her life, her husband Charles (Bill), who preceded her in death in 2005. Her son, Raymond Moody, also preceded her in death in 2008. She is survived by her siblings: Darlene, Carlton and Helen, grandchildren: Ti, Tashia, Doris, Raymond, Clinton, and Darnell (Ti’s son). She is also survived by many great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, along with those she raised: Tonya (Tammy), Crystal (Crissy) and Elwood.
