Louise Ida Arnold

Louise Ida Arnold, 102, passed away on June 1, 2016 of natural causes.

She was born in Amery, Wisconsin on September 1, 1913 to Lewis and Inga Rohde. She married Herman Arnold in Ludington, Michigan on September 28, 1938. They were married 60 years. Herman passed away on February 26, 1999.

Most of her married life occurred in California with about 40 years in San Jose. Following the passing of her husband, she spent the past 15 years in Ogden, Utah near her daughter Barbara.

Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Hoekstra (Paul) of Ogden, Utah, Sue Hardin of Redding, California and Carolyn Baez (Rafael) of Sacramento, California; also six grandsons, Douglas, Curtis, Andrew, Eric, Alejandro and Carlos and four great grandchildren, Hayden, Alyssa, Ava and Gavan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman; sister Martha; twin brother Oscar and brothers, Theodore and Edwin.

Louise enjoyed telling about her early life in Michigan. She was blessed with a good memory to the end of her life and we all enjoyed listening to her many stories.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of our Savior in San Jose, California since 1958 and was an active member of the Lutheran Braille Workers while living in California.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living in West Haven and also Envision Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of Louise.
