Louise Haiday, age 65, of West Haven entered Heaven peacefully on January 4, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer for the past 3 ½ years. A fabulous mother, amazing grandmother, partner and friend she leaves her life partner of 20 years Jim Melbourne, her children Karen (Christopher) Hawes, Michael (Christine Bergami) Haiday, her brother Robert Bello, five grandchildren Mathew & Maya Haiday, Lance & Sarah Kunecki, Jack Olexovitch, Jim’s children Linda Kunecki, Debbie & Jack Olexovitch, four nieces and two nephews. Her mother Louise & John DelloRusso predeceased her. Louise graduated from Jonathan Law High School and was co-captain of her majorette/cheerleading squad. When her children were young she worked as a Tupperware saleslady & waitressed at Jimmie’s of Savin Rock and Duffy’s Tavern in West Haven. She later worked 15 years at Sikorsky Aircraft in the accounts payable department and then at Enthone Incorporated. Louise was co-owner of Baybrook Meat Center & Cigar Shop. She enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping, playing tennis & water aerobics and loved to travel and spend time in Florida.
