Louise E. Rush, 97, of Pine Road in South Bend, IN (formerly of 748 Portage Avenue in South Bend) passed away at 4:58am Sunday, September 18, 2005 in Hospice House, South Bend.

She was born to the late Casimir and Josephine (Borowski) Stankiewicz in South Bend, IN, where she had lived most of her life. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Arendt and Lottie Chlebek; and three brothers, Michael, Roman, and Chester Stankiewicz.

On September 2, 1942, she married Vincent B. Rush in South Bend, IN. They then moved to Sarasota, FL, where Vincent was a real estate developer. He died in 1955. She had lived in Sarasota from 1942-1957, before moving back to South Bend.

Mrs. Rush retired in 1974 from Stewart Sandwich Company in South Bend. Prior to that, she worked at the Studebaker Company. She was also a cook at St. Stanislaus Parish for many years.

Louise is survived by one niece, Stella Kaniewski of South Bend, IN; two nephews, Raymond Arendt of Pompano Beach, FL; Ray Chubby Stankiewicz of South Bend, IN; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Rush was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish, where she belonged to the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary at the church. She was an avid Tournament Euchre Player, and was known by everyone as Aunt Louise.
