She attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Wallace and graduated from Wallace High School in 1977. Following high school, Louisa graduated from Lewis and Clark State College, where she earned her nursing degree and became a registered nurse.
Louisa was a very passionate and loving person. She began her career early as a nurse’s aide and worked tirelessly as a registered nurse for 37 years. Her passion for caring for others led her to obtaining other certifications throughout her long nursing career. She was certified as a chemical dependency nurse, a psychiatric nurse, an advanced cardiac life support nurse, an ER nurse, a labor and delivery nurse, as well as a sexual assault nurse examiner. Also of mention in the year 2000, she received a prestigious award from Kalispell Regional Medical Center for setting up a sexual assault program for the ER. This included a group of about 10 nurses to rotate call for possible sexual assault victims. She also received the Most Compassionate Nurse award while at Deaconess Medical Center. Needless to say, she was well known around the Valley as a companion and helper to all.
Louisa was married to Ward Alan Clark from 1991-2001 and had two wonderful sons, Steven and Clifford.
She was a committed, faithful member of St.
Louisa lived life to its fullest. She loved to go mountain biking, skiing, hiking, fly fishing; or really anything by or on a river. She was a beautiful singer, enjoyed listening to music, was an excellent piano player and also enjoyed the acoustic guitar.
Louisa is survived by her two sons, Steven Michael Clark of Highland Park, New Jersey and Clifford Samuel Clark of Whitefish, Montana; her sister, Ellen (David) Boley; her brother, John; her nieces, Annette and Karen; and nephews Nathan, Patrick and John. She also will be greatly missed by her beloved longtime partner and companion, Mark Needles of Silverton, and his four children, Natasha, Dominic, Alexander, and Jesse. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Karen Ryan.
