Louis F. Almeida Jr., age 87 years, of Plymouth, passed Friday, February 15, 2019, at the Beth -Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Mary L. Waitt-Almeida, who passed on January 8, 2019, and the son of the late Louis F. Almeida Sr. and Mary Souza-Almeida Born in Plymouth on June 28, 1931, Louis was a graduate of Plymouth High School, and a United States Army veteran. He was a hairdresser in North Plymouth for many years. There after Louis pursued a career as a truck driver for F. Cavicchi Fruit and Produce Company in Whitman before starting his own produce business until his retirement. Spending time with his wife Mary was what it was all about for Louis. He was an avid hunter and spent many years hunting on Nantucket. He loved to play cards with his buddies and belonged to the Garibaldi Cub, the Young America Club and the Columbo Club. He will be missed by his son Harold “Harry” Almeida and his wife Michele of Plymouth and his daughter Pamela A. Almeida of Plymouth, his four grandchildren, Jason Gascoyne, Jennifer Carey and husband Kenny Carey, Alexandria and Alyssa Almeida. Great grandfather of Jeremy L. Almeida-Walcott, Kyle Carey, Aidan Carey, and Jason A. Stearns. Louis was predeceased by his siblings, Alfred, John, Joseph, Manuel and George Almeida, Eunos Zion, Alice Almeida, Louise Ragazzini, Delmena Luz, Bernadette Waitt and Rose Diaz.
